이승희
Seounghee Lee
이승희 (b.1994)는 영국 런던 예술대학교, 첼시 컬리지 오브 아트에서 순수예술을 전공하고 홍익대학교 일반대학원 동양화과 석사과정을 졸업했다. 개와 인간이 갖는 특별한 유대관계를 기반으로 회화, 조각, 설치 작업을 시도하고 있다. 서로의 역사속에서 함께 공존하며 ‘반려종’이라는 관계에서 ‘개’라는 존재가 인간에게 선사하는 어떤 마음에 대해 탐구한다. 인간 – 동물 – 세계의 관계속에서 존립하는 여러 측면의 얽힘을 나열하거나 서사로 재구성하며 다양한 오브젝트와 회화적으로 접근하고 있다. 일상의 사물 또는 대상과 신화적 존재를 하이브리드적 형태로 접합 시키며 다중적 관계를 표상하는 작업들을 다룬다. 인간과 비인간의 관계적 지평과 공존의 가능성에 대해 모색과 의미를 두고 있다.

Seounghee Lee (b.1994) received a BA in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts in London (2018), and then graduated with an MA in Oriental Painting from Hongik University in Seoul (2021). She explores painting, sculpture, and installation works based on the special bond between dogs and humans. Her art delves into shared histories and emotions within the “companion species” relationship, reimagining the intricate connections in the human-animal-world. Through a diverse range of objects and techniques, she creates fantastical narratives that blend everyday elements with mythical entities, depicting the multifaceted nature of relationships. Lee’s work is a quest for understanding the meanings and possibilities found in the interdependence and coexistence between humans and non – human.
